Sneaker Releases in the Next Three Weeks

As you all can tell, it has been a little bit over a week since Dylan and I last posted on Sole Camp. This was mainly because of a lack of good news to share. However, during the next three weeks, we will be on a trip, and thus, too occupied to update you all on upcoming releases. So without further ado, here is what you should look out for while we are away.

Released: Air Jordan XII Retro “Cool Grey”

Air Jordan XII Retro "Cool Grey"

Jordan Brand has been pretty consistent in giving the Air Jordan Retro fanbase something to crave week after week. A four-week streak of Jordan Retro drops started in late April with the release of the “Playoff” Air Jordan XII Retro, and it finishes today with yet another XII Retro, the “Cool Grey” version. If you’re a fan, get to your local Jordan Brand retailer and get a pair now.

Reebok Question White/Red

This release could not have come at a more appropriate time. At this time, the Philadelphia 76ers are seeing the most success that they have had since trading one Allen Iverson in the mid-2000s. The last time the Sixers were a playoff-bound team was around the time the sneaker above mesmerized fans of The Answer. Now, the Reebok Question will be dropping in the iconic White/Red colorway with a pearlized leather toe box to the delight of many. Check for the Question at your local Reebok R23 account on Friday, May 25. (Picture via Inside the Sneakerbox)

Nike LeBron 9 P.S. Elite “South Beach”

What better way for Nike to cap off the LeBron 9 P.S. Elite releases than to drop a “South Beach”-like colorway of the sneaker. Even if the Miami Heat can resist the surging Indiana Pacers, do not expect to see this shoe on court. However, you should definitely expect to see long lines and some mania when the “South Beach” LeBron 9 P.S. Elite drops on Saturday, June 2. If you want to avoid the mad rush, get your pair early now on eBay

Air Jordan IV Retro “Military Blue”

It looks like June will be all blue for Jordan Brand. Two major Retro releases are coming in the month, with the “Military Blue” Air Jordan IV Retro dropping first. As an original Air Jordan IV colorway, this sneaker should garner a bit of attention when it is released at Jordan Brand retailers on Saturday, June 9. (Picture via Hoopcity)

Nike Air Yeezy 2 Possible Release?

Nike Air Yeezy 2 Black/Solar Red

Nike Air Yeezy 2 Black/Solar Red

Ever since news broke of an Air Yeezy sequel, the fine details have been in question. Even with an impending June 2012 release, Nike has not revealed any plans for the silhouette’s drop. However, a concrete date has finally been revealed for the Australian release of the Air Yeezy 2. According to a couple shops out there, both colorways of the Air Yeezy 2 (Black/Solar Red and Wolf Grey/Pure Platinum) will drop on Saturday, June 9 in the Down Under. There is no telling what this means for an American release, but these next three weeks could have some information, so keep on the look out. (Picture via Modern-Notoriety)

Reebok Question Poster

The Question Returns.

In the past month or so, Reebok’s creative director Swizz Beatz has hinted at the return of several of the brand’s classic models, such as the shoe that former NBA sensation Allen Iverson made famous back in the late 1990′s: the Reebok Question. With the unveiling of this poster, we now have a date to mark down. On May 25th, 2012, approximately 5,000 pairs of the White/Red Reebok Question will hit R23 accounts across the U.S. One question remains…will you pick up a pair? Check below for a picture of the shoe when Allen Iverson wore it recently at a charity game in China (Pictures and Information via Sole Collector). (more…)

Almost three months ago, the guys at Extra Butter took you back in time with the Robin Hood: Men in Tights-inspired “Ahchoo” Reebok Pump AXT. With the same movie in mind, EB concocted a Pump OXT that’s definitely out-of-this-world: the “Sheriff” Pump OXT. The shoe, inspired by the movie’s final scenes, is releasing tonight (at 12 AM) at Extra Butter, and at 11 AM on their webstore tomorrow. EB also created some apparel just for the occasion. Both the black crewneck with a twill-print logo and the green Reebok snapback with the feather over the ear would look great with the “Sheriffs” or on their own. You can also pick up the clothing from Extra Butter tonight or their webstore tomorrow. Good luck in your hunt!

Butter’s back? You bet’cha. After teasing their next collaboration with Reebok for about a week now, Extra Butter has unveiled its new design: the “Sheriff” Pump OXT. While the first Extra Butter x Reebok collaboration, the “Ahchoo” Pump AXT, was inspired by Robin Hood: Men in Tights character Ahchoo’s outfit throughout the entire movie, this shoe specifically pays tribute to the last scene of the movie, where Ahchoo (Dave Chappelle) is crowned the new sheriff and exclaims: “A black sheriff? And why not? It worked in Blazing Saddles.” This colorup of the OXT uses durabuck and premium tumbled leather colored in Hunter green, black, and dark brown, as well as an arrow-like quill-printed mudguard. The “Sheriff” Reebok Pump OXT will release at Extra Butter next Friday, March 23rd, so get your money ready quick! In the meanwhile, you can watch the short film that Extra Butter created for the “Sheriff” Pump and check out more pictures of the shoe below. (more…)

Extra Butter and Reebok ended 2011 with a bang, as together, they released a Pump AXT collaboration inspired by Dave Chapelle’s character in Robin Hood: Men in Tights, Ahchoo. Well, for anyone who thought EB was done there, think again. Next up is a sneaker that takes inspiration from the same Mel Brooks movie, but in a different way. Perhaps the “Sheriff” moniker will help you guess the inspiration. For now, not much has surfaced online about this crazy design, and I will keep it that way. However, if you’re really itching for the full low-down on the “Sheriff”, you might want to think about buying the most recent issue of Sneaker Freaker. (Picture via Sneaker News)

Long Island sneaker boutique Extra Butter is proud to release its first sneaker collaboration, the “AHCHOO” Reebok Pump AXT, tonight at midnight at its physical location (266 Merrick Road, Rockville Centre, NY, 11570). The shoe is based on a scene in “Robin Hood: Men in Tights,” in which the character Ahchoo declares that he needs to “get pumped” before a fight and proceeds to press the pump buttons in his Reebok Pumps (For more info on its backstory, read here). This release fits Extra Butter perfectly, as the store decor and crew are all about the theater experience and appreciating great artistry in movies. For those of you who can’t make it to the store tonight, the “AHCHOO” Pump AXT will release tomorrow on Extra Butter’s webstore at 11:00 EST. However, if you do plan on trying to get the shoe at Extra Butter tonight, you should head there as early as possible, as the line for it will start soon, if it has not already. Jake and I will be there tonight, and we’re certainly “PUMPED” for the release, as I hope you all are! Check below for pricing and images of some of the extra details of the “AHCHOO” Pump AXT and a nice hoody that Extra Butter will release alongside it. (more…)

December 2011 Release Date Round-Up

Along with the arrival of December came the “Cannon” LeBron 9, which released today. In addition, Jake already let you guys know about the “Black Flip” Air Jordan III that will be released tomorrow. However, here are all of the other notable sneaker release dates for this month:

Nike Zoom KD IV Lineup

This month, Nike Basketball will debut the KD IV, Kevin Durant’s latest signature sneaker, at retail. Tomorrow, December 3rd, both the “Thunder Away” and “Blackout” colorways of the KD IV will hit stores. Later in December, on the 17th, the special “Nerf” version of the KD IV will release at select spots. However, there is one more KD IV set to release soon…

Nike Basketball “Lockout” Pack

Nike Basketball "Lockout" Pack

Nike Basketball "Lockout" Pack

As any NBA fan should know by now, the lockout is over, and the 2011-2012 season is slated to begin this upcoming Christmas! However, during the lockout, several NBA players took on other jobs. Nike Basketball, inspired by this action, asked some of its signed athletes what job they would pursuit if they were not professional basketball players. This “Lockout” Pack is the result. The “Weatherman” KD IV, which draws its inspiration from Kevin Durant’s childhood dream of becoming a meteorologist, features the bright Green, Yellow, Orange, and Red shades of your local news’ weather radar. The “Stockbroker” Hyperfuse 2011, which was created by Andre Iguodala’s desire to become a stockbroker, features a luminous Green upper and a tongue symbol that’s font invokes the power of Wall Street. Finally, the “Blake Show” Hyperdunk 2011 Supreme certainly matches Blake Griffin’s humorous personality, as well as his movie star potential. You can purchase all three shoes in the “Lockout” Pack on December 10th at select Nike Basketball retailers.

December does not only belong to Kevin Durant sneaker-wise. On December 22nd, the first colorway of the Kobe VII (in its Supreme form), Black/White-Del Sol, will hit Nike Basketball retailers. In addition, Jordan Brand has the rest of December on lock, with the debut of the Fly Wade 2 on December 7th, a re-release of the epic “Last Shot” XIV on December 17th, and the highly-anticipated launch of the 2011 “Concord” XI on December 23rd.

Collaborative Releases

As 2011 comes to a close, several stores (and designers) are going out with a bang. Boylston Trading Co., a “premium menswear” boutique in Boston, MA, will unleash the “Hustler’s Crest” adidas Originals Forum Hi Pack, which features three luxurious montone adidas Forum’s (in Black, Lead, and Cardinal) that are all highlighted by a golden crest. The set, designed by BTC’s frontman, Frank the Butcher, goes on sale tomorrow, December 3rd, but is currently available for pre-order online. Nice Kicks is also getting in on the December fun with the release its first New Balance collaboration, the Grey/Red Nice Kicks x New Balance 1500, on December 16th. In addition, Long Island boutique Extra Butter’s first collaborative sneaker, the “AHCHOO” Reebok Pump AXT (which was recently revealed in full), will end off this big year with a release on New Year’s Eve, December 31st. Lastly, while Ronnie Fieg’s next Asics release for his store, Kith, has not officially been revealed yet, he has hinted on Twitter that his “Mazarine Blue” Gel Saga will release soon (through a picture of the official box for the sneakers), and that December 22nd will be a date for people to “mark..down.” Nothing is set in stone though.

Special thanks to Vagrant Sneaker for the picture of the “Mazarine Blue” Gel Saga and Sole Movement for various pictures throughout the post!

Extra Butter x Reebok Pump “Ahchoo” Sneak Preview

Extra Butter x Reebok Pump "Ahchoo"

Extra Butter x Reebok Pump "Ahchoo"

Extra Butter is known to many as one of Long Islands finest sneaker boutiques in terms of many things. Their store has one of the better, if not the best conceptual designs out of any sneaker store in the area. The crew at the store holds plenty of fun events for their supporters, ranging from parties to movie showings, and even video game tournaments. Their apparel selection is awesome. But best of all is their diverse assortment of sneakers. In addition to the Nike and Jordan Brand products that all of your typical sneaker stores carry, EB has loads of stuff from the likes of Vans, Adidas, and Reebok. In fact, Extra Butter has a R23 account, which gives the store access to Reebok exclusives. And from the looks of a video that EB put on their blog, it looks like that’s not all they share with Reebok.

If you’re a real movie buff, then you might realize the similarity between that video and this scene from Robin Hood: Men in Tights. Add the fact the Extra Butter titled their video “Ahchoo” (the name of Dave Chapelle’s character in the movie), and it looks like we have an apparent connection between the movie and a certain Extra Butter-designed Reebok Pump that is shown near the end of the video. We at Sole Camp don’t cover Reebok on a normal basis, but be assured that we will keep you updated on the “Ahchoo” Reebok Pump as further details surface.
