Upcoming Nike SB Dunk High Quickstrikes: “Cheech and Chong” & “Reign in Blood”

In the past few days, the designs for two of the most anticipated SB Dunk Highs of 2011 have been revealed:

Todd Bratrud x Nike SB Dunk High “Cheech and Chong”

I’m sure you all remember last year’s killer quickstrike in honor of 4/20, National Marijuana Day: the “Skunk” SB Dunk High. For this year, Todd Bratrud, who created the “Skunk” colorway as well as a few other colorways of the SB Dunk High, looks to follow up his sellout with one of the most creative SB Dunk Highs I have ever seen. Behold, the “Cheech and Chong.” This shoe is based off of the movie “Up in Smoke,” in which comedians Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong play the role of avid “hippies” with some radical headgear. This headgear, a red bandana of Chong’s and a red ski cap of Cheech’s, is represented on the heel of each shoe. Another nice feature of the shoe, is that as the white canvas upper of it sheds off, a nice green suede is revealed under the canvas. Anyways, look for the “Cheech and Chong” SB Dunk High to hit Nike SB retailers in limited quantities (there is a rumor that around only 1000 pairs of these are coming out!) around April 20th (Picture via N-SB).

Brooklyn Projects x Nike SB Dunk High “Reign in Blood”

Brooklyn Projects, one of California’s well-known skate shops, has collaborated with Nike SB on a Dunk before. However, let’s just say that this upcoming one is for the better. The owner of the store, Dom DeLuca, who has history in the metal (music) industry, created the pictured colorway of the SB Dunk High with the Slayer’s famous “Reign in Blood” album in mind. The dark color of the album blends well with the high-quality leather, suede, and denim used on the sneaker. Apparently, only 666 pairs of the “Reign in Blood” SB Dunk High will hit SB retailers in June, so keep up with Sole Camp for news on that (Picture via SneakerNews).

Nike LeBron 8 V2 Low “Sprite”

Nike LeBron 8 V2 Low "Sprite"

Nike LeBron 8 V2 Low "Sprite"

It was about time before we saw a LeBron 8 lowtop. At least now we can confirm that the lighter LeBron 8 V2 will be continued on into the summer in lowtop form, and not the V1. With that said, it’s time to get into the actual colorway. According to the various sneaker news websites, this LeBron 8 V2 Low’s colorway is inspired by a certain soda brand that LeBron is affiliated with: Sprite. If you don’t know already, Mr. James has been the recent poster boy for Sprite, starring in a Sprite commercial, as well as working with Sprite to revamp basketball courts across the nation. So, it’s to no surprise that LeBron’s signature shoe gets a colorway inspired by the soda brand. The color combination on this shoe is actually pretty simple, with a nice Treasure Blue base, white swoosh and midsole. and Volt-colored lining, swoosh border, and outsole. No pun intended, this is quite the refreshing colorway for the sunny days to come. No release information is known on the “Sprite” LeBron 8 V2 Low, but based on the first release date for an Air Max LeBron VII Low last year, expect a release no earlier than the end of the NBA season for this stunning shoe. Air Jordan VII Retro "Orion Blue"

Air Jordan VII Retro "Orion Blue"

Back in 2010, Jordan Brand released two pretty exclusive VII’s in the “For the Love of the Game” colorway and the “Bin 23″ colorway. In 2011, we will get a slew of VII’s, starting with this brand new colorway: the “Orion Blue” VII. With it’s light white base and bright Orion Blue and Infrared accents, this VII seems like a hot choice for the summer! Hit up your local Jordan Brand retailer for the “Orion Blue” VII tomorrow, March 26th (Picture via Jumpman23).

Jordan Brand Holiday 2011 Releases – New Catalog Images

Jordan Brand Holiday 2011 Releases

It looks like even just at the beginning of Spring, Jordan Brand is prepping up for what is sure to be yet another great holiday season for releases. Thanks to Modern Notoriety, catalog images of three of the Air Jordan Retros releasing during the Holiday 2011 season have surfaced online. In the middle, there is the “Black Cement” Air Jordan III Retro that I all told you about some time ago. While it was pretty much confirmed then, pictures are always comforting confirmation of a release. The other two shoes pictured have not been mentioned on Sole Camp…until now, that is! Two Air Jordan XIV Retros will release this holiday season. The first, pictured right, is a Stealth-colored Air Jordan XIV that looks to continue the “Grey” trend all the way into the end of 2011. The second, pictured left, is a long-time favorite of many: the “Last Shot” Air Jordan XIV, making its first retro release since 2005. The wait to the Holiday 2011 season might be painful, but with these shoes releasing, I think it is definitely worth the wait!

Nike LeBron 8 P.S.

LeBron 8 P.S. White/Black-Sport Red

Nike LeBron 8 P.S. White/Black-Sport Red

Once March Madness cools down, the only thing on basketball fans’ minds should be the NBA Playoffs. This season, there does not seem to be one definite NBA Finals spot pick in both the East and the West. One of the league’s many teams that has been fighting for contention (especially this season) is the Miami Heat. With huge stars like Chris Bosh, Dwayne Wade, and LeBron James, how could any team deny them? Even though people over the country have hated LeBron since his “Decision,” no one has denied these two things: he is one of today’s greatest players in the NBA (possibly this season’s MVP), and he has one of the hottest signature sneakers of any NBA player.

Last season, LeBron James wore a special post-season shoe for the first time: the Nike LeBron VII P.S. This season, the trend will continue with the upcoming Nike LeBron 8 P.S. This sneaker combines many of Nike Basketball’s main technologies into one. The shoe has a fuse upper (for breathability), along with a Zoom Air/Air Max sole! The LeBron 8 P.S. will debut in stores on April 16th in the White/Black-Sport Red colorway shown above. Almost a month later, on May 13th, three more nice colorways of the Nike LeBron 8 P.S., including a predecessor to last year’s “Dunkman” Air Max LeBron VII, will hit stores! Hit the cut to check out the three other colorways (Pictures via Sole Collector). (more…)

Sneaker Con NYC March 2011 Recap

My, did quite the event go on yesterday! Tons of sneakerheads lined up yesterday for Sneaker Con, one of, if not the premier sneaker event of New York City. Dylan and I were surely included there. People were there buying, selling, and trading kicks of all kinds. And as it always is for events like there, everyone was wearing straight heat on their feet! Definitely quite the event for any sneakerhead!

As for mine and Dylan’s personal experience, the day was an overall blast. Dylan sold some stuff that he’s been looking to sell and bought a cool tee. Unfortunately, I could not find the one pair of sneakers that I was looking for in my size (Unkles, that is. If anyone has a size 11.5 pair for sale, hit me up!). But that certainly did not stop the day from being fun as hell. Almost everyone that we know from the sneaker community was there. People who you might not know of just yet, like midgetmaster234, jjjumpman23, and theshoegame31, to celebrities in the sneaker game, like SneakGeekz, Premium Pete, and DJ Clark Kent. You name it! Even people we know from outside of the sneaker community came out to Sneaker Con. That’s how crazy the event was! With that said, we have some shoutouts to make!

The ISS NYC Crew (Kevin, Eddie, Mike (Type X), Mike Victoriano), Tommy)

The Schechter Crew (Ben, Josh, Omer, Eliron, Aviv, Breggy)

DJ Clark Kent

Ronnie Fieg

Yu Ming-Wu

Jason (aka njnetsfuckinrule on YouTube and Krazikid76 on Twitter) [and crew]

With those made, all that’s left to say is to check out the video above, recapping the whole thing! In addition, hit the jump below to check out some pictures from the event and go to our Facebook page for a ton more pictures! (more…)

Now Releasing: Nike Air Foamposite One “Metallic Pewter”

Nike Air Foamposite One "Metallic Pewter"

Nike Air Foamposite One "Metallic Pewter"

Last year, the new “Copper” colorway of the Air Foamposite One set stores ablaze with anxious customers, persistent to get their hands on the new Foamposites. Now, I’m not so certain that the “Metallic Pewter” colorway of the Air Foamposite One will garner as much attention as the “Copper” colorway, but it is definitely worth noting that the release of the “Metallic Pewter” Foamposite One is upon us. Tomorrow, the shiny-as-ever “Metallic Pewter” Foamposite One will release to Nike Sportswear retailers. They will be available at both mom-and-pop shops, like Exit 36 (as we revealed to you last week), and retail locations, like Foot Locker, starting tomorrow, the 19th of March. With that said, go and get ‘em!

Event Reminder: Sneaker Con NYC

Look what will make an appearance tomorrow!

Look what will make an appearance tomorrow!

New Foot Locker/House of Hoops on 34th St. In NYC

It looks like heaven...

It looks like heaven...

Remember this? Back in the beginning of last summer, Jake informed you all that a new House of Hoops location was set to open in New York City, specifically at 11 West 34th St. Now, 9 months later, the new Foot Locker/House of Hoops has opened! The bottom level of the new store is your normal Foot Locker store, but a set of stairs in the middle of the store take you to basketball-shoe heaven: House of Hoops. For the store’s grand opening earlier today, the store released a bunch of hot newer sneakers, such as the “Cool Grey” Air Jordan XI, “Black History Month” Air Jordan III, “3D” Zoom Kobe VI, “Sunset” Zoom Kobe VI, “Entourage” LeBron 8 V2, and ?uestlove x Nike Dunk High Pack. I am not sure which/if any of these hot shoes are still available there, but regardless, all of you should check out the new Foot Locker/House of Hoops at 11 West 34th St when you get the chance! Hit the cut for a couple more picture of the store (Pictures via Foot Locker Unlocked). (more…)

adidas Originals JS Panda

adidas Originals JS Panda

adidas Originals JS Panda

Right on the heels of the sell-out JS Bear, Jeremy Scott and adidas Originals have created a new furry masterpiece: the JS Panda. The JS Panda has a furry black and white upper, along with a panda bear-head and arms, much like on the JS Bear. Besides for the colorway, the only notable difference between the JS Panda and the JS Bear is the inclusion of an adidas Originals headband for each of the panda bear-heads, a very creative addition to the sneaker. I’m sure that the JS Panda will be as cuddly, yet as neckbreaking as its predecessor. The JS Panda is supposedly part of adidas Originals’ Fall 2011 collection, but no release date has been confirmed. Keep up with Sole Camp for further information on the JS Panda as it comes out (Picture via UGSoles).
