Don’t think we forgot about a certain Air Jordan Retro coming out this weekend! As I told you all long ago on the blog, the “Obsidian” Air Jordan XII Retro is still set for release on this Saturday, June 23. Take a look at that sneaker along with the “Gym Green” Air Foamposite Pro, set for release on Saturday, June 30, from Nike. Post-Hiatus Update – 6/11/12

Before Dylan and I left for our three-week trip to Israel, I sent out a preview of things to come in the time while we were away. Alas, I had no idea of exactly how crazy of a period this past three weeks was going to be. The answer: very, very crazy. Check out a few of the headlines I missed in my preview below.

Nike LeBron 9 “MVP”

Nike LeBron 9 "MVP"

Nike LeBron 9 "MVP"

After the first half of this year’s NBA season, there was no question that LeBron James was putting up historic numbers for his Miami Heat squad. The second half of the season showed a little dip in his production, but nonetheless, in mid-May, LeBron was named Most Valuable Player of the 2011-2012 season. To celebrate the occasion, Nike created an “MVP” version of the LeBron 9. The sneaker has an upper covered in white, but also taken up by a red-and-black fade pattern. Yellow accents appear on the logos and outsole. More pizzaz comes through with red and yellow speckles on a white midsole. Last, but certainly not least, LeBron’s signature on the back of the LeBron 9 is replaced with a yellow “MVP” badge. No word yet on a release date, but keep your Eastern Conference Finals Game 6 demon eyes peeled. (Picture via Nike Inc.)

Nike Zoom Kobe VII “What the Kobe”

Nike Zoom Kobe VII "What the Kobe"

Nike Zoom Kobe VII "What the Kobe"

Nike SB dropped the “What the Dunk” Dunk Low in October 2007. Since then, there have been custom “What the Dunk” Dunk Highs and even a “What the Jordan” Air Jordan 1, but I am pretty sure Nike was the first to come up with a “What the Kobe” concept. The result? Look right above. Can’t miss it. This obscene version of the Zoom Kobe VII takes radiant colors and animal prints found on previous Kobe colorways and meshes them all together into one pair of sneakers. Wild, right? No release date is known on this super-eccentric Kobe VII, but stay tuned for one hopefully in the near future. (Picture via Sneaker Freaker)

Jeremy Scott x adidas Originals Fall/Winter 2012 Preview

adidas Originals JS Bear for Fall/Winter 2012

adidas Originals JS Bear for Fall/Winter 2012

Soon enough, six months will have passed since the first drop from Jeremy Scott’s Spring/Summer 2012 collection, and you know what that means: more zany-to-infinity Jeremy Scott x adidas Originals sneakers to feast your eyes on. Sneaker Freaker has a preview of the first set of clothing and sneakers being released, which includes the psychedelic JS Bear pictured above. The first set of three sneakers, along with the matching clothing, is set to drop on or around Sunday, August 12.

Nike Air Foamposite Pro “Gym Green”

Foamposite mania hits again. The “Gym Green” Foamposite Pro above is dressed in an iridescent green that is lighter, but still similar to the “Dark Pine” Foamposite Pro’s upper from last year. Gym Green accents can be found on the lateral swoosh and outsole swoosh. A translucent outsole makes sure that this Foamposite is a winner for the Olympic season. Pick up your pair on Saturday, June 30. (Picture via Private Stock)

Ronnie Fieg x New Balance 999 Release Date Change

Ronnie Fieg x New Balance 999 "Steel Blue"

Ronnie Fieg x New Balance 999 "Steel Blue"

For the most part, these past three weeks have been quiet for news on upcoming Ronnie Fieg sneaker releases. No previews of future Asics collaborations have surfaced, but one tidbit of information on his latest New Balance project came out. The release of the “Steel Blue” New Balance 999, initially slated for Fieg’s birthday of June 15, has been moved to an undisclosed date. The information should not be too far away, but perhaps you will have to wait a little longer than you thought. For now, enjoy a gallery of pictures of the “Steel Blue” 999 courtesy of Sneaker News.

Nike Sportswear “Safari” Pack

Nike Sportswear "Safari" Pack – Air Safari & Air Trainer 1

Nike Sportswear "Safari" Pack – Air Safari & Air Trainer 1

Twenty-five years ago, Nike went a little over the aesthetic edge with the Nike Air Safari – a sneaker built like a classic Nike runner, but with a loud pop thanks to the Safari print. Now, Nike will pay tribute to the Air Safari with a two-sneaker pack. First, the Air Safari will re-release in its original form. In addition, the Air Trainer 1 will get dressed up in the original Air Safari colorway for the occasion. Look for both to drop at select Nike Sportswear retailers on Saturday, June 30. Nike Zoom Hyperdunk 2011 Supreme "Galaxy" Blake Griffin PE

Ever since the NBA 2012 All-Star Game, many people have been curious about the release status of this player exclusive Hyperdunk 2011 Supreme. Fortunately for those people, this “Galaxy” Blake Griffin PE Hyperdunk finally has a release date. Look for the sneaker to drop in limited amounts at select Nike Basketball retailers on Saturday, June 23. For now, if you have the dough, you can go to eBay to get yourself a pair now.

Released: Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski “Vino Rosso”

Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski "Vino Rosso"

Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski "Vino Rosso"

Over the three weeks of our hiatus, there were a few notable drops, including this blast-from-the-past Nike SB quickstrike. For months on end, the “Vino Rosso” Janoski seemed like one of those shoes that had pairs floating around, but would never see a wide-scale release. That is, until this past Saturday, June 9. The “Vino Rosso” Janoski dropped at Nike SB locations across the nation as a regular quickstrike. If you put in effort, you should still be able to find a pair for retail or just a little above. Released: Air Jordan 1 Retro KO Hi “Bred” & “Black Toe”

Air Jordan 1 Retro KO Hi "Bred" & "Black Toe"

Air Jordan 1 Retro KO Hi "Bred" & "Black Toe"

Talk about a blast from the past! Two Saturdays ago, June 2, marked the completely unexpected return of a gem for Jordan connoisseurs – the “Bred” Air Jordan 1 KO. This colorway of the Air Jordan 1 KO hasn’t seen store shelves since…well, the original drop! Along with the “Bred” colorup, Jordan Brand also dropped a reiteration of the classic “Black Toe” Jordan 1, but in KO form. The “Bred” version is pretty much gone, but you should still be able to find the “Black Toe” KOs around. (Picture via Extra Butter)

Released: Nike Air Yeezy 2 Black/Solar Red & Wolf Grey/Pure Platinum

Nike Air Yeezy 2 Wolf Grey/Pure Platinum

Nike Air Yeezy 2 Wolf Grey/Pure Platinum

Didn’t I tell you this might be coming? Well, I hoped it wouldn’t, just so I could be in the States to witness what could have been the craziest sneaker drop ever. Turns out the release was a day before I got back – Saturday, June 9. And yes, it was one of the most insane drops the sneakerhead community has ever seen. For one, there was a regional split for each colorway; stores in the West received the Wolf Grey/Pure Platinum version, stores in the East received the Black/Solar Red version, and select shops in Chicago and New York City received both. After February’s “Galaxy” Foamposite release hoopla, most stores learned their lesson, and held huge raffles instead of allowing lines to form. This was the first time raffles became so commonplace among sneaker shops. Thousands upon thousands of people across the nation put their names down for a chance at Yeezy 2s, with only a small percentage actually getting a chance to purchase pairs. Even the few House of Hoops locations that received Yeezy 2s held online raffles. Nike-owned stores stuck to the RSVP method, which, while efficient, upset a lot of people who believed that they responded quick enough to their respective store’s tweet. NikeStore even opted to release the sneaker online at a random date and time. And worst of all, while the sneaker retailed for $245, it is being sold on eBay at prices in the $2000 to $4000 range. If you won a raffle and were able to pick up a pair, congratulations. Otherwise, you might want to wait for the market price of the sneaker in either colorway to drop. (Picture via Nike Inc.)

Sneaker Con NYC June 2012

Sneaker Con NYC June 2012

Sneaker Con NYC June 2012

Did you miss out on any of the sneakers that dropped in the past three weeks, and don’t feel like buying them online? In a matter of weeks, you’ll have a great opportunity to see all sorts of sneakers in person at New York City’s first Sneaker Con in 2012. This time around, the event looks to be bigger than ever, thanks to the new 10,000 square-foot venue, Baruch College. Nearly 100 vendors will be at the event, catering to an expected thousands of event-goers. If there are any sneakers that you are looking to buy, sell, or trade, Sneaker Con is the place to be when it all goes down on Saturday, June 30 in New York City.

Future Nike Air Foamposite One, Air Foamposite Pro, & Zoom Rookie LWP Colorways Revealed at Nike Las Vegas Event

Future Colorways of the Nike Zoom Rookie LWP, Air Foamposite Pro, and Air Foamposite One

Future Colorways of the Nike Zoom Rookie LWP, Air Foamposite Pro, and Air Foamposite One

People knew that the Sole Collector x Zoom Rookie LWP would be released at the Penny Hardaway event that took place this past Saturday at Nike Las Vegas. People knew that attendees would have the opportunity to purchase a Penny Signature Pack with five Penny Hardaway shoes if the attendees won a raffle. Heck, people even knew that Penny Hardaway and the lead designer of the Zoom Rookie LWP, Mark Dolce, would be in atterndance. But what actually went down at the event probably took a majority of the sneakerhead world by surprise. Product Creation Footwear Lead of NSW (the Nike Sportswear division that handles Nike Sportswear Basketball and Football products) Gentry Humphrey used the event as a platform to show the masses the Foamposite products coming in 2012.

Of course, as the event was centered around the Zoom Rookie LWP, Gentry showed off some upcoming colorways of the Penny hybrid, including an all-white version, a “Dynamic Blue” version, a Black/Anthracite version, a White/Black version, and the “Binary Blue” colorway that I showed you in a previous post. The Air Foamposite Pro got some love, as Gentry brought out a “Metallic Silver” Foamposite Pro colorway with a translucent red sole and other red accents. But Gentry really left an impact on the audience with the number of Air Foamposite One colorways that he revealed throughout the night. For one, he confirmed the existence of the “Metallic Red” Foamposite One, and further revealed that the colorway will release on Valentine’s Day 2012. Other colorways that Gentry brought in his trunk of Foamposites include an iridescent “USA” edition (which even has “USA” written on the back), the “Electrolime” edition that was previously rumored to be released in 2012, a pink “Kay Yow” edition, and a yellow ”Golden State Warriors” edition that honors the team that initially drafted Penny Hardaway. In addition, Gentry wore a Foamposite One that he dubbed the “Galaxy All-Star” colorway. As of right now, that Foamposite One is not releasing. Look for everything to hit retailers at various points in 2012, or in some cases, even sooner. We at Sole Camp will make sure to keep you informed as Foamposite mania hits the hardest it ever has next year. Take a look below for more images of Penny Hardaway shoes revealed at Saturday’s event. Now Releasing: Various September 2nd and 3rd Releases

Nike Air Foamposite Pro "Dark Pine", Air Jordan III Retro "Stealth", Nike Air Trainer SC II "Citron", and Nike Air Trainer SC II "Infrared"

Nike Air Foamposite Pro "Dark Pine", Air Jordan III Retro "Stealth", Nike Air Trainer SC II High "Citron", and Nike Air Trainer SC II High "Infrared"

Last week, excitement from sneaker news peaked at a major high with the second unveiling of the Yeezy 2. This week has been slow on news so far, but you can just consider that the calm before the storm. What storm, you ask? Well, look at the long list of shoes coming out within the next two days, and you have an answer. Today, I’m going to go through each and every notable release for both tomorrow, September 2nd, and Saturday, September 3rd. (Picture via Premier)

Nike Air Trainer SC II “Citron” & “Infrared”

Dylan informed you all about the return of these OG Trainer SC II High colorways a few days ago. A release date of September 2nd has been slapped on the classic “Citron” and “Infrared” colorups of the Air Trainer SC II High. If you can’t wait until tomorrow, some stores, like Exit 36, might have both shoes in stock at this very moment.

Air Jordan III Retro “Stealth”

Air Jordan III Retro "Stealth"

Air Jordan III Retro "Stealth"

What’s a big sneaker release day without some Jordan love? This weekend, Jordan heads will be able to get their hands on the new “Stealth” Air Jordan III Retro. With its grey nubuck upper, black tongue, minimal red and white accents, and interesting use of tumbled nubuck, the “Stealth” colorway of the III is certainly a Bulls-tinged classic. Get to your local Jordan Brand retailer (perhaps Extra Butter?) early on Saturday if you want to ensure your pair.

Nice Kicks x adidas Originals Campus 80s “Game Day”

Nice Kicks x adidas Originals Campus 80s "Game Day"

Nice Kicks x adidas Originals Campus 80s "Game Day"

Even if we have neglected to talk about the next Nice Kicks collaboration until now, it is still a release of much significance. In the past, the famous blog (and boutique) has collaborated with Ronnie Fieg on two Asics Gel Lyte III colorways. Tomorrow will mark the branching out of Nice Kicks’s collaborative efforts, as they try their hands on the adidas Originals Campus 80s silhouette. In the Nice Kicks x adidas Originals collaboration, Nice Kicks owner Matt Halfhill wanted to embody the vivacious atmosphere in Austin, TX that appears whenever the hometown Longhorns (University of Texas) play football. This spirit comes through on the “Game Day” Campus 80s with a rugged suede upper in the signature Burnt Orange color of the Texas Longhorns. The Nice Kicks x adidas Originals “Game Day” Campus 80s will release on Nice Kicks’s online web shop at 11 AM CST (Or 12 PM EST, for you east coast folk), and then in Nice Kicks’s actual shop in Austin, TX later that day at 6 PM at an all-out, Texas-style tailgate party. Those that attend the party will have the special opportunity to brand the almost logo-less shoe with customized irons.

Nike Air Foamposite Pro “Dark Pine”

Nike Air Foamposite Pro "Dark Pine"

Nike Air Foamposite Pro "Dark Pine"

Nike is looking to end this Foamposite year in a bang with perhaps the most well-recepted non-original colorway of the Foamposite Pro to ever release. With its green color, ice blue sole, and luminescent upper reminiscent of the “Eggplant” Foamposite One, the “Dark Pine” Foamposite Pro is sure to be one of, if not the most sought-after Foamposite release of the year (sans the “Royal” Foamposite One re-release). In fact, stores like Footaction and Moe’s Sneaker Spot are even celebrating the shoe’s release with various events. If you’re one of the many looking to get your “Dark Pine” on for the autumn, then you’d better be prepared for anything and everything when these Air Foamposite Pros release tomorrow.

Nike LeBron 8 P.S. Finals PE

Nike LeBron 8 P.S. Finals PE

Nike LeBron 8 P.S. Finals PE

Here is the perfect shoe for all you Heat fans who are still in shock after the result of June’s NBA Finals. The LeBron 8 P.S. Finals PE should bring back memories of LeBron James’s spectacular shots and plays against the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Finals. Wait…you’re saying that LeBron choked in the Finals? In that case, diehard LeBron fans should be the only ones buying this shoe. Or those that like the Heat-themed color scheme, I guess. Anyways, if you don’t remember from last time I posted about the Finals PE of the LeBron 8 P.S., the shoe drops on NikeStore this upcoming midnight. (Picture via Sole Collector)

Nike LeBron 8 V2 Low “Miami Nights”

Nike LeBron 8 V2 Low "Miami Nights"

Nike LeBron 8 V2 Low "Miami Nights"

Is it “South Beach” part two? Looks wise, that would be an easy no for me. Everything else wise? It seems quite like it. Major hype behind the colorway name? Check. Use of teal blue and pinkish red? Check. Exclusive release in Miami? Unfortunately for fans of the shoe in the 49 other Unites States of America, check. As of now, the epically hyped “Miami Nights” LeBron 8 V2 Low is only set to drop at Niketown Miami tomorrow, with chaos already erupting at the location over lineups, wristbands, and the such. However, rumors are floating around that the Dadeleand House of Hoops will also have the shoe in stock. My advice for those of you in the Miami area would be to call around to see if any other local shops are getting them in and to hope for the best. (Picture via Sole Collector)

Nike Air Foamposite Pro “Dark Pine”

Nike Air Foamposite Pro "Dark Pine"

Nike Air Foamposite Pro "Dark Pine"

This should not be a surprise to you all, as the “Dark Pine” Foamposite Pro was revealed back in January. However, I feel as if we have neglected to bring the “Dark Pine” Foams the attention that they deserve. The picture above and the pictures below should remind you why you should line up at your local Nike Sportswear retailer when this Foamposite Pro releases on Friday, September 2nd.  (more…)

Now Releasing: Nike Air Foamposite Pro “Retro”

Nike Air Foamposite Pro "Retro"

Nike Air Foamposite Pro "Retro"

While it seems like the “Dark Pine” Foamposite Pro has taken all attention from the “Retro” Foamposite Pro, it is now the “Retro” Foams’ time to shine, literally! The sneaker will release tomorrow, Friday, July 1st, to many Nike Sportswear retailers across the nation. Day-after-day, the hype on the “Retro” Foamposite Pro has risen, and now, more than seven hours before the shoe releases at midnight at Footaction and House of Hoops on 34th Street (in NYC), people are already lined up for them there! Good luck on getting this hot summer release! If you would like to stick to Long Island, Extra Butter and Sneaker Bistro are good options for stores to hit up for the “Retro” Foamposite Pro.

Nike Air Foamposite Pro “Dark Pine” – Release Date

Nike Air Foamposite Pro "Dark Pine"

Nike Air Foamposite Pro "Dark Pine"

Hype has been rising for the “Dark Pine” Foamposite Pro lately. Fairly new pictures of the shoe online, as well as the shoe’s appearance at this past Sneaker Con, have got many people talking about this previously overlooked colorway. These people, however, will have to wait through the long, hot months of July and August for the “Dark Pines,” as they will release on September 2nd, 2011. While the soon-to-be-released “Retro” Foamposite Pro will provide you with a bright look to begin the warm season, the “Dark Pine” Foamposite Pro will provide you with a clean, subtle way to transition out of the summer, and into fall (Picture via SneakerNews).

Nike Air Foamposite Pro “Dark Pine” – Detailed Images

Nike Air Foamposite Pro "Dark Pine"

Nike Air Foamposite Pro "Dark Pine"

As one Foamposite Pro’s release date approaches, another one is revealed (further). Sneakerheads (such as myself) have been awaiting detailed pictures of the “Dark Pine” Foamposite Pro ever since the colorway was revealed, and, more recently, when rapper Wale wore them at a concert. New pictures of the sneaker reveal that the shoe’s upper is made-up of a dark green foamposite shell that looks rather purple from some angles. Look out for the “Dark Pine” Foamposite Pro to release in September, and hit the cut for two extra pictures of it (courtesy of Air-Randy). (more…)
