Nike Air Max 90 VNTG “Infrared”

Nike Air Max 90 VNTG "Infrared"

Nike Air Max 90 VNTG "Infrared"

Ever since I have designated one of my two pairs of “Infrared” Air Max 90s from the 2010 release as my beaters, the shoe has had a special place in my heart. Even now, with that pair totally worn out (creased upper, yellowed midsole, and all), I still appreciate the shoe to the fullest. That is why I might just end up buying yet another pair when the VNTG version above drops. As with all VNTG makeups, this “Infrared” Air Max 90 has a yellowed midsole. For those of you who hate the “splatter-yellow” effect that Nike has taken to for previous VNTG releases, be pleased, as they have yellowed the entire midsole on the shoe, making it actually look like a pair that has sat in the closet for years. In addition, the grey suede on the upper is a bit darker than usual, again showing the effect of age. Not a fan of the Air Max 90? That’s fine too, since this isn’t the only VNTG Air Max dropping in the near future. Along with the “Infrared” Air Max 90 come the “Varsity Red” Air Max 1, “Neon” Air Max 95, and “Silver Bullet” Air Max 97 all in VNTG makeups. Expect all four to drop sometime in early 2013. Now Releasing: Nike Flyknit Racer & Flyknit Trainer+

Nike Flyknit Racer & Flyknit Trainer+

Nike Flyknit Racer & Flyknit Trainer+

If you are a running sneaker fanatic, then you better have tomorrow circled as an important release day. Back in February, Nike unveiled a new composition technology that the company had developed called Flyknit. This Flyknit composition allows for the upper of any Flyknit sneaker to be nothing but an ultra-light knit. Literally, the upper on the sneaker has the feel of a sock. Combo that with Zoom Air cushioning, and you have a pretty cool running/training combination. Nike will launch the Flyknit material tomorrow on two different models. The Flyknit Racer, the narrower silhouette of the two, is made specifically for running and, as one would assume, racing. The Flyknit Trainer+ is more of a multipurpose sneaker than the Racer, and thus, works well for both running and training. Tomorrow, July 27, two Racer colorways and a staggering ten Trainer+ colorways will be released at Nike-affiliated stores worldwide and very select mom-and-pop running stores. If you are in the New York City area, try Niketown NY, 21 Mercer, or the Nike Running store located at 156 Fifth Avenue in the Flatiron district. If you can’t make it to an official Nike store tomorrow, make sure to be on your computer at 8 am est tomorrow when all twelve sneakers drop on NikeStore. For now, check the jump for a visual comparison of the Racer and Trainer+, and check here for a list of all of the colorways releasing tomorrow (see Running).  (more…)

Last year, when Nike Sportswear first debuted the Hyperfuse versions of their classic Air Max models, pictures of some of the original colorways of those models leaked, with no sort of release information. The “Varsity Blue” Hyperfuse Air Max 1 was one of those sneakers pictured. Thankfully, this old dog with new tricks has finally dropped at a select number of Nike Sportswear in the thick of the summer. If you are in New York City, go grab your now at Kith.

Nike SB Dunk Low "Pushead 2"

Nike SB Dunk Low "Pushead 2"

Back in 2005, Nike partnered with artist Pushead on a sick Red-patterned SB Dunk Low. Now, the two entities have collaborated yet again on another SB Dunk Low. This one, however, appears to be a washed-out form, in terms of color, of the previous version, with an addition of patterned laces. The shoe has already caused line-ups at Brooklyn Projects in LA and Supreme in NY, but check with your local skate shop to see when they are releasing this QS Dunk, as it is getting to shops right about now.

Supreme x Nike SB Dunk Low 2012 Release Date

Supreme x Nike SB Dunk Low 2012

Supreme x Nike SB Dunk Low 2012

For a while, Supreme’s upcoming Dunk Low release fell off the map, as barely any information on the sneaker had been revealed since its initial announcement. However, Supreme took to their website today to tell everyone more details on the sneaker. For one, we now know that the upper of the Dunk Low is comprised of a red full-grain nubuck leather. Also, Supreme announced the release information for the sneaker commemorating the tenth anniversary of their first collaboration with Nike SB. If you are looking to buy the shoe from Supreme locations in New York, Los Angeles, or London, the release is set for this Thursday, July 19. If you are in Tokyo, then you can get this Dunk Low from the Supreme store there on Saturday, July 21. Not looking to head over to a retail location? If that is the case, make sure that you are peeled to your computer at 10am on Thursday for the online drop.

Nike LeBron 9 Low “LeBronold Palmer”

Nike LeBron 9 Low "LeBronold Palmer"

Nike LeBron 9 Low "LeBronold Palmer"

Earlier today, LeBron James, who is currently training in Las Vegas for the USA Basketball Olympic Team’s run at another Gold medal, posted a picture of himself wearing this sick “LeBronold Palmer” version of the LeBron 9 Low. The shoe’s name comes from the popular Arnold Palmer drink made by Arizona, and the shoe really takes the drink to heart: both of them are lemony, yet cool and refreshing. The shoe can be described as such for its bright yellow upper, teal accents, and crazy patterns on the upper on lining. This sneaker has been labeled as a PE by other sneaker blogs, but there has been no word on whether the sneaker will release or not, so I have left that out. If any word of a release of the “LeBronold Palmer” LeBron 9 Low comes out, you will see it here.

P.S. – I am a huge fan of Arnold Palmer, so I am really hoping this sneaker hits store shelves at some point soon!

Nike Zoom Kobe VII “Barcelona” Pack

Nike Zoom Kobe VII "Barcelona Away"

Nike Zoom Kobe VII "Barcelona Away"

Nike Zoom Kobe VII "Barcelona Home"

Nike Zoom Kobe VII "Barcelona Home"

Did you really think Kobe would change his non-basketball hobbies over one year? Absolutely not. He is still a huge fan of soccer, and specifically, of FC Barcelona. Nike proved last year that perhaps the best way of showing this passion is through sneakers, as they concocted two of the hottest Kobe VIs in tribute to Barcelona’s “Away” and “Home” color schemes. Looks like they are back at it again. This time, a teal and bright red Zoom Kobe VII serves as the “Away” version, while a bright yellow and blue colorway serves as the “Home” version. Unfortunately for you Kobe fans in the USA, both of these sneakers will be dropping exclusively at House of Hoops locations in Europe on Saturday, July 21. Better get your Euro connects ready. Nike Zoom Kobe VII "What the Kobe"

Nike Zoom Kobe VII "What the Kobe"

It was only time before another “What the…” concept sneaker released to the masses. Tomorrow, July 7, Nike Basketball will be releasing the extremely zany “What the Kobe” Zoom Kobe VII at a select number of Nike Basketball retailers. The sneaker takes both pattern and color cues from a plethora of Kobe VII iterations, most noticeably from the Poison Dart Frog releases and the “Cheetah” Christmas edition. If you decide to venture out tomorrow to get a pair, be early, as the sneaker will be releasing in limited numbers. If you don’t want to deal with long lines and crashing servers tomorrow, then get to eBay to secure your pair now.
